SPECIAL INTERESTS

My teaching and research interests are in 20th Century African-American literature and culture, Postmodern American literature, and New Media (Comics and Graphic Novels). My publications include the book, “A God of Justice?”: The Problem of Evil in 20th Century Black Literature, as well as articles and reviews in African American Review, Southern Literary Journal, and Callaloo. I am also co-editor of a forthcoming collection on Comics and the U.S. South with University of Mississippi Press.
