For More Information on the Department of Anthropology please email us at anthinfo@mailbox.sc.edu.

The Department of Anthropology has a four-field Ph.D., MA and BA program with research and teaching in cultural anthropology, prehistoric and historical archaeology, linguistic anthropology, and biological/biocultural anthropology. Our shared intellectual focus is on comparative diasporas and social justice. Historical archaeology of the African diaspora, for example, is an area of interest for many of our graduate students.
