How can you get involved? There are a number of ways people can get involved in the current research. 1) Tell us what you think! What ideas do you have for future research, or regarding the current research? What issues are important to you? What are the problems people are facing in your community that might be worth studying in the past?
2) Join the Historic Columbia Foundation. By joining the foundation, you can help direct future research and concerns of the Foundation. By doing this, you can stay involved by getting newsletters and discounts on events.
3) Volunteer! Volunteers are always welcome in archaeological research. Currently, we are analyzing artifacts in the lab at the University of South Carolina. If you are interested in seeing, analyzing or helping with the cataloguing of artifacts, please give us a call or email!
4) Schedule a tour or talk. Archaeologists and Historians will be more than willing to schedule a talk revolving around the site, or at the site. Please contact John Sherrer at Historic Columbia if you are interested in a tour, or contact Joseph Samolis if you are interested in a talk about the site. 5) Come out to the events! We are always interested in seeing new faces at the numerous events held by Historic Columbia. Come on out and have fun while learning something new!
