and Gas (SCE&G)
A deposit of $150 is required to have lights cut on (this could be waived, depending
on what comes back from your credit check). You should apply no later than one day
before you need service. In order to apply, you must give your driver's license and
social security numbers. If you are sharing the apartment, SCE&G will need the
name(s) and social security number(s) of your roommate(s). If you need to have gas
turned on, make arrangements with SCE&G to light the pilot. You may apply by
phone.

Student rates (as of August 2005) are as follows:
Daily (Monday-Sunday) 17 weeks = $31.00
Daily (Monday-Saturday) 17 weeks = $16.00
Friday-Sunday) 17 weeks - $23.00

There is an application fee of $30 if the water is on or $45 if the water has been
turned off. The application and connection fees can be added to your first bill. You
can apply over the phone - you will be asked to verify your social security number.

You will be asked to complete an application over the phone. If you are sharing a
phone with a roommate(s), you will also need to give their name(s) and social
security number(s). Also, you will be asked to give two emergency names and phone
numbers: your landlord's name and phone number and one other. Once you have completed
the application, a credit check will be run. If a deposit is required, you may be
asked to pay $75 - $250 deposit (depending on your credit rating). Ask the operator
for the nearest location to pay if a deposit is required. There will be a one-time
installation fee of $40 if a phone line already exists or $129.25 if a new line must
be put in. This can be added to your first bill. You must show proof of ID when you
pay the deposit.

Campus Parking
Reserved parking spaces are available for the Campus Parking Garages.
General parking decals are available for $40.00 a year. The decals allow you to
park in designated lots during the week and in Faculty/Staff lots Monday - Friday
starting at 4:00 P.M.
There are also parking meters throughout the campus.

Parking Services are located at the Pendleton Street Garage, 1501 Pendleton Street -
directly across from the Department of Anthropology. Maps of the university,
including all parking lots and garages, can be obtained at the Pendleton Street
Garage.
For information on the public bus system that services the campus, call
Central Midlands Regional Transit Authority at 255-7133.
Hamilton College - The Department of
Anthropology
Turney-High Lounge, on the 3rd floor of Hamilton College, has a refrigerator,
microwave and a few other appliances that the students are allowed to use.
Computer Lab
There is a Graduate Student Computer Lab on the 2nd floor of Hamilton College for
your use.
