Focus is looking for both papers and photographs from any subdiscipline of anthropology. You may submit strong research papers from class, independent studies, study abroad projects, theses, etc. Most recently, all submissions were to be emailed or postmarked by December 31st.

All information, including rubrics and application forms, are available on the Focus website at www.FocusAnthro.org in the "Application Materials" section. Once you have submitted work, further information about the review and publication process will be sent to you. National Association of Student Anthropologists (NASA) Announcements

NASA is seeking suggestions for invited sessions to be presented at AAA's (American Anthropological Association) centennial meeting in New Orleans. Suggestions may be centered on the theme, "The Next 100 Years of Student Anthropology" or something similar to AAA's theme for the 2002 meeting. Not only would we like to have high-caliber panels but we would also like to have a strong invited poster session. Even experienced presenters can prepare a poster or poster session since it can be an opportunity to dialogue with others instead of a lecture format or get feedback regarding ongoing research. AAA is especially interested in sessions that will be of interest across sections.

We are very interested in knowing what our membership would like to see. If you would like to organize a session or if you have any suggestions please contact the program editor, Lori Johns, and her committee at nasaprogram@yahoogroups.com. Anyone can organize a session, even if they have never presented before. Our Program Editor will be happy to answer any questions you have about the process. Even if you just have a single paper to present that is of exceptional quality please do not hesitate to contact us. If we get enough single papers we may be able to put a panel together with these.

In addition, feel free to use this list to help you find other students to help you organize a session; send your ideas with contact info to nasalistmanager@mail.com and I will distribute them to everyone (use AAA proposal as the subject line, please).

Kathy Mancuso, a USC anthropology undergraduate major who is editing the National Association of Student Anthropologists Opportunities e-newsletter, is looking for recommendations of listservs that are good for job, fellowship, scholarship, grant, postdoc, fieldschool, etc. postings that would be of interest to students of anthropology across the US. The previous editor was an archaeologist, so I need other subfields more. Please tell me how to subscribe to the listserv and whether it is high traffic. Ideas can be sent to kmancuso@sc.edu. In addition, when opportunities suitable for this cross your transom, I'd appreciate if you took the time to forward them to me. Thanks for helping anthropology students across the nation! Information on joining NASA and
