Advising

Because the English Department is committed to excellent student advising, every faculty member advises. Each English major is assigned to an undergraduate advisor, who will assist the student in planning courses for the next semester in the context of long-term plans and graduation requirements.

Students should

• be aware of important dates,

The Undergraduate Office will notify all majors about their advisors and the time for fall and spring advising prior to registration. While meeting requirements is ultimately the student's responsibility, the Department's Undergraduate Office (114 Welsh 777-2138) and the faculty advisors are a valuable resource for the student. The English major's academic folder is kept in the Undergraduate Office and may be reviewed by the student at any time.

Important Dates for Fall 2007

• October 25 : Advising begins
• November 13: VIP on-line registration appointments begin
• November 14 : Advising ends
• November 20 : Open registration
