The Film and Media Studies Program at the University of South Carolina announces a postdoctoral position for the 2010-2011 academic year with the possibility of renewal for a second year in 2011-2012. The position will support a research scholar with a PhD in hand at time of appointment who will teach a 2-2 load. Area of specialization is open, but the ideal candidate will utilize our Moving Image Research Collections (MIRC), housed in University Libraries, in her research and/or teaching. MIRC holdings include a major new collection of Chinese film, vast holdings in film and television news, as well as home movies, science and nature films, and more. Teaching will include introduction to film and media studies, theory and criticism, and an upper-level topics course keyed to the candidate’s research expertise. The position is a nine-month appointment; salary is competitive. For full consideration, applications must be received by March 1, 2010.
