Post-doctoral Fellowship

Because of the generosity of the Watson-Brown Foundation, ISS is able to invite applications for a post-doctoral fellowship to be awarded for the 2011-2012 academic year (August 16, 2011 through May 15, 2012). The successful applicant must be prepared to begin residence in Columbia by August 15, 2011. The fellow will teach one course each semester in the interdisciplinary undergraduate program in Southern Studies and be expected to revise her/his dissertation for publication. The selection process will attach substantial weight to the potential of the candidate to revise for publication a dissertation that promises to make a valuable contribution to understanding of the South in any academic discipline.

Applicants should have a recently acquired Ph.D. in any discipline of Southern Studies, including, but not limited to, anthropology, environmental studies, geography, history, literature, material culture and sociology.
