The Walker Institute and Center for Asian Studies is glad to host a Brown Bag Luncheon with Taiwanese Visiting Scholar Dr. Chin-shou Wang. Dr. Wang will present, "A President on Trial: The Judiciary in Action in Contemporary Taiwan." Dr. Wang is an Assistant Professor at the Department of Political Science at the National Cheng Kung University in Taiwan. This event is open to the public and everyone is invited to bring their own lunch to the lecture. |

Her articles have appeared in the Journal of Middle East Women's Studies and the Journal of Cultural Dynamics. This event is co-sponsored by the Islamic World Studies Program and the Walker Institute. |

Dr. Hilda Sabato, Professor of History at the University of Buenos Aires, Argentina, will present " The Republican Experiment in Nineteenth Century Latin America." She has been a fellow at the Princeton Institute for Advanced Study as well as a Tinker Visiting Professor at Stanford University. This public lecture is sponsored by ARENA, the Department of History, the Latin American Studies Program, and the Walker Institute, honoring the 200th anniversary of the Latin American Independence movements. |
