COMPARATIVE POLITICS: AFRICA

The Department of Political Science at the University of South Carolina invites applications for a tenure-track position in Comparative Politics, with specialization in comparative political development and sub-Saharan Africa, at either the Assistant or Associate Professor rank, to begin in August, 2008. Competencies in ethnic politics and in the problems confronting “failed states” and conflict and post-conflict societies are especially desired and will complement the department’s existing strength and reputation in International Studies. This search is being conducted as part of an effort to expand African Studies; other searches are being conducted for new faculty positions in the College of Education and the Arnold School of Public Health.
