Historical Linguistics ResearchGroup
(HLRG): - Meets first Friday of each month.
The Historical Linguistics Research Group (HLRG) meets one Friday evening
each month. After a potluck dinner, there is a presentation withdiscussion.
Speakers include faculty and students of the LinguisticsProgram, as well
as an occasional outside speaker. The meetings areorganized by Philippe
Albert.

the first light. When you get to that light,turn left. This street will gradually curve to the left and go throughthe "Olympia" area. You will begin passing streets named after states. The state/street names will progress alphabetically. When you getto Kentucky, make a right. Steve lives in a duplex on your right (#619). If these directions are too vague, you can look at the map I left withRulai in the Linguistics office or you can call Steve and ask for clearer directions (779-3635).
The Language and Culture Reading Group (aka- The LangCult) will meet THIS Friday (2/2) at 6:30pm at the home of Lori Donath. Our discussion for this meeting will be on Rosina Lippi-Green's article "Accent, standard language ideology, and discriminatory pretext in the courts." As usual, the article is on reserve at the Linguistics Program office.Forth Meeting:Lori lives at Park Circle apt. #610. Park Circle is the tall building on the corner of Pickens and Blossom. Go up to the building and look for "Donath" on the tenant list and find the corresponding code. Type this code into the
call box and wait to be let in. Go to the sixth floor and look for #610, which is quite close to the elevators.THE BOTTOM LINE:
