sound clips from the ex-slave recordings. One of the producers
of the radio documentary, "Remembering Slavery," asked her to
create a Web site for the project. As part of that work, she wanted
to make examples of the ex-slave recordings available to faculty
and students. You will also find a brief explanation about the
background of the Works Projects Administration narratives and
the Archive of Folk Song recordings. You don't need a special
program or plug-in to your browser to play the sound clips. You
only need a Java enabled browser such as Netscape 3.0/Internet
Explorer 3.0 or a later version of these browsers.
