South Carolina Broadcaster's Association Archives
The South Carolina Broadcasting Association Archives documents the history of broadcasting in South Carolina by collecting and interpreting photographs, papers, videos, film and knowledge of the development of radio and TV, entertainment, and community activities in the state.  The collection includes personal papers of industry leaders, original broadcasts and scripts, equipment, a music library, and station materials.  The Archives also collects materials that document the activities of the South Carolina Broadcasters Association.  The SCBA Archives invites researches interested in broadcasting history to make use of the collection and welcomes donations of material or oral history information.

Location
The location of the Archives in the McKissick Museum provides for ease of access by members of the Association, as well as by students and others who are in or visiting Columbia.  McKissick is located on the historic Horseshoe of the USC campus, three blocks from the State Capitol and 5 blocks from the Broadcaster's Association headquarters in the USC College of Journalism.
The South Carolina Broadcasters Association was established on September 1948.

The SCBA Mission Statement:
The objects and purpose of this Association are to promote cooperation and understanding among its members;  to foster and promote the development of the art of radio and television broadcasting; to encourage and promote customs and practices which will be for the best interest of the public and the radio and television broadcasting industry; to protect its members in every lawful and proper manner from injuries and unjust executions, and; to act as a regional contact with the National Association of Broadcasters.
