SCBA Presidents
1948 - 1998

From a small meeting of radio executives who gathered in 1948 to discuss the formation of a broadcasters' association to monthly Board of Directors meetings in 1998 which include a mixture of 27 officers, committee chairmen and other leaders, SCBA quickly evolved from a dream into a full service trade association for the state's radio and television stations, thanks to leaders with vision, drive and commitment. Like any professional organization, SCBA depends on volunteers to lead the Association and its many active committees.

Since our inception 50 years ago, SCBA has been fortunate to have had so many broadcast pioneers and industry legends and leaders at the helm of our ever-expanding Association. This section serves as a tribute to those who have not only been the champions for broadcasting excellence in South Carolina but who have also individually contributed an important chapter to the history of the South Carolina Broadcaster's Association.

*To properly recognize the accomplishments of our former leaders, SCBA contacted each living past president to obtain a photo, biographical information and a quote about the strongest memories from his/her year as president.  For those past presidents who are now deceased (marked by an asterisk next to their names), we were only able to acquire limited information from our records.
