Recognizing an immediate need to gather information and materials about the past years of broadcast, and realizing those materials should be available to the public and researcher, the South Carolina Broadcaster's Assocation coordinated with its members and the University of South Carolina to move into conventional archiving and into newer directions of historic research and public communicaiton. This unique cooperation calls for actively seeking facts, equipment, recordings, and other "data."

Areas that have been designed for special interest and effort now include:
| |
Thomas Howard Collection - Transcripts and research of the history of broadcasting in South Carolina (63 radio stations) |
| |
African-American Broadcasters in South Carolina |
| |
The USC on the Air |
