Amanda Licht is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Political Science and the University of South Carolina. Professor Licht earned her Ph.D. from the University of Iowa, where she was a Presidential Fellow. She works primarily in the field of international relations, focusing on the role played by domestic politics and political incentives in the foreign policy arena. Professor Licht has also devoted research time to political methodology, in hopes of clarifying interpretation issues in event history modeling and promoting better presentation and understanding of empirical results in the literature. She was recently published in The Journal of Conflict Resolution and is currently working on several additional article-length projects on foreign aid, economic sanctions, and leader survival.
