Abstract: 709 is a statistics course that provides an overview of research design and data analysis for 1st and 2nd year graduate students. This course places particular emphasis on experimental design and data analysis using ANOVA and basic extensions of the ANOVA model. Specifically, this course provides an overview of the basic ANOVA model, higher order ANOVA, ANCOVA, repeated measures ANOVA, and mixed design ANOVA. Statistical power is also discussed in light of these designs. For each of these components, students are taught practical data analytic skills using both SAS and SPSS syntax in a lab each week. Students are required to use the skills taught in class on a final project.

Abstract: This course teaches foundational knowledge about the use of psychometric methods for developing and evaluating psychological measures. Emphasis is on the evaluation of psychological tests for both research and clinical use.
Prerequisites: This course is generally taken by first year graduate students in Clinical/Community Psychology.
