Jason Cummings joined the Department as
Assistant Professor.
Barry Markovsky received the
2011 (National) Advisor of the Year award
from the Secular Student Alliance.
Lala Steelman and her co-authors of the book,
Counted Out (Russell Sage 2010), received the William J. Goode
award of the ASA, the Distinguished Book Award of the Midwest
Sociological Society, and the Distinguished Book Award of the North
Central Sociological Society.
Grants
Barry Markovsky
received a grant from the National Science Foundation for a project
on “Web-based Tools for Developing and Accessing Sociological
Theory.”
Jimy Sanders received
a grant on "Acculturation, Socioeconomic Status, and Body Mass Index
Trajectory Among Children of Immigrants in the United States" from
the Office of the Provost, University of South Carolina.
Brent Simpson
received a grant on “The Logic of Collective Action in Large Groups”
from the National Science Foundation.
