Advisory Boards

Women's and Gender Studies is advised by two boards: the Women's and Gender Studies Advisory Committee made up of University Faculty and the Partnership Council consisting of individuals from the community.

Women's and Gender Studies Advisory Committee


The Women's and Gender Studies Advisory Committee is made up of Affiliate Faculty from various schools/colleges and departments. Members are appointed by the Director of Women's and Gender Studies for three year terms. These individuals advise the Director on a variety of issues and take action on Affiliate Faculty applications.

Partnership Council

The Women's and Gender Studies Partnership Council advises Women's and Gender Studies and its Women's Well-Being Initiative on community issues and opportunities related to the well-being of women and other underrepresented groups. It also works to strengthen the Women's and Gender Studies Endowment and to raise money to support special projects directed toward improving the well-being of women and other underrepresented groups in South Carolina.
