Courses are taught by distinguished faculty from many colleges and departments. These active teachers and researchers contribute to scholarship on women through books and articles, ongoing research, speeches, papers, and presentations. In addition to their contributions to women's studies scholarship nationally, they are involved in University and community life, serving on committees and boards, guest lecturing, and volunteering with community service agencies

The Women’s Studies Core Faculty hold joint appointments in Women’s Studies and other departments. These women build bridges to their departments and colleges to create a collegial, interdisciplinary, and diverse community of scholars and teachers.

Affiliate Faculty
In addition to its small core faculty, the WOST Program at U.S.C. depends on a large number of Affiliate and Adjunct Faculty and staff in other departments of the University and in the community. Affiliates teach Women’s Studies courses work for other objectives of the program. The Women’s Studies Affiliate Program includes over 86 faculty and staff at the main Columbia campus and the various regional campuses. Affiliate faculty have full-time appointments in their home departments.
Affiliate status is granted to individuals through an application process. Affiliate appointments are for three years. Appointments can be renewed at the end of three years. The Women’s Studies Advisory Board reviews affiliate applications and makes recommendations to the Director. New applications for affiliate faculty status are accepted throughout the year.
