Director, African American Studies Program.

SPECIAL INTERESTS
The interest is in recording the history of protest tradition, civil rights history, and the experiences of Africans in the Diaspora. Specifically the focus should be on the oral history of the many legendary African American figures that shaped the history of South Carolina. This would include the study of the various cultural groupings, different languages (Gullah, Creole, and Ghegee ) and, the survival experiences (sometimes recorded in folklore but in most instances unrecorded) that were necessary.
