Course Content:
We focus on how four cultures are treated in ethnographic/documentary films, in feature films (by members of the culture and/or by outsiders) and in writings by ethnographers: Japan, India, Inuit (Eskimo) and Kalahari San/Bushmen.

Course Presentation:
Lectures, discussions, and film screenings.

Method of Evaluation:
Two essay-type exams (mid-term and final), short journal page on each film.

Audience:
There are no prerequisites for this course, but you should be something of a film fan.
