BATTLEGROUND PRESERVATION TRUST
FELLOWSHIP
THE SOUTH CAROLINA BATTLEGROUND PRESERVATION TRUST OFFERS A FELLOWSHIP FOR RESEARCH ON SOUTH CAROLINA'S BATTLEGROUNDS.
The South Carolina Battleground Preservation Trust Fellowship Fund is intended to support candidates whose research and career interests are devoted to preserving and protecting historic military sites in South Carolina. Once numerous, these military sites from the Revolutionary and Civil Wars have become increasingly rare.
The fellowship will be available to graduate students enrolled in the Department of Anthropology at the University of South Carolina. Applications for the fellowship can be made by students applying to the Graduate Program in Anthropology, but will only be awarded once the student has been accepted and enrolled. Students already enrolled in the program are also encouraged to apply. The amount of the fellowship is $10,000 per year renewable for up to 2 years for MA students and 4 years for those pursing the PhD.
For more information, contact Tom Leatherman, chairman of the USC's department of Anthropology, at 803-777-6500 or via email to leatherman@sc.edu. Details about the South Carolina Battleground Preservation Trust are available on the web site, www.scbattlegrounds.org.
