  Walt Hancloscky

Professor, Media Arts, Multimedia and Media Development.

Current Research: Developing interactive CD-ROM & DVD programs.

Walter Hanclosky has a Ph.D. from Kent State University with an emphasis in the field of instructional design and post-doctoral studies at Columbia University and Parsons School of Design in the area of digital imaging. He was also educated at the University of London and taught in Sydney, Australia.

Over the past ten years he has won regional, national and international awards for development of multimedia materials related to the AIDS epidemic in the U.S.A. Current work relates to development of HIV/AIDS instructional media materials through collaboration with six AIDS agencies in Kenya, Africa. One project is the development of an animated video to educate school age female students to avoid sexual advancements of older and fellow male students. This project was awarded the 2005 CINE Golden Eagle, 2005 Platinum Best in Show Aurora International Award and Bronze Achievement in Media Excellence from the Media Communications Association- International. He continues to work as the Media Arts Advisor to the Ghetto Arts International Network in Nairobi, Kenya.

Over the past few years he has offered filmmaking workshops in Florida that resulted in the 2005 Red Baron Award for Educational Programming from the Florida Festivals & Events Assoc. He also worked on a CD-ROM/DVD/Web media project to visually record the human anatomy with the USC School of Medicine and periodically works as a visual image expert witness with the U.S. Attorney Generals Office.
