Assistant Professor, Studio Art;
Head of Printmaking
Mary Robinson is the head of printmaking at USC, where she teaches all levels of printmaking. After receiving her BFA in painting from the University of Colorado at Boulder, Robinson worked as an assistant to Andy Rubin, the master printer at Tandem Press in Madison, Wisconsin. She later earned her MFA in printmaking from Indiana University-Bloomington in 2001, and taught at Indiana University-South Bend before coming to USC. Robinson works primarily in printmaking and drawing, and her imagery results from observing nature. She often uses the forms of trees and vines to express the flux of life (movement, growth, decay) and the interconnectedness of beings. She has received several awards and grants, and her work has been shown throughout the U.S. as well as in England and Australia. |
