Assistant Professor
Full-time, tenure-track. Starting August 2008.

Responsibilities:
The successful candidate will be expected to teach undergraduate and graduate courses for art education majors and non-majors; advise students; teach general education art courses; conduct a program of research appropriate to the discipline; and contribute to the vision and leadership of the department, university, and community. Applicants must provide evidence of their professional commitment through a developing record of scholarly research and publication.
Qualifications:
Terminal degree and a minimum of three years of teaching at the
K-12 levels. PhD or EdD in Art Education preferred. ABD considered. A candidate with university teaching experience and expertise in contemporary issues in art education, artistic and aesthetic development of students, preservice art education, visual culture and visual literacy is preferred. Evidence of scholarship, creative activity, and commitment to the preparation of art teachers and the ability to model quality teaching and collegiality should be provided.
Position begins August 16, 2008.

Complete application must include: a letter of application, statement of teaching philosophy, curriculum vitae, official graduate school academic transcript; photocopies of articles and manuscripts documenting scholarship, twenty images of recent creative work and twenty images of student work completed under your instruction.
CD/DVD submission requirements: Format all images as jpeg files no larger than 1024 x 768 pixels at 72-pixels/inch resolution.
Photocopies documenting scholarly work should have complete reference information attached.
