Artist-in-residence exhibit at the South Carolina State Museum
Nationally known painter and South Carolina native Brian Rutenberg opened phase two of his S.C. State Museum exhibit, Brimming Tides: Paintings and Drawings, April 28, 2006.
Rutenberg was the visiting artist-in-residence during the Fall '06 semester in the USC Department of Art. He has worked in the department's atelier on various printing techniques, some of which he experienced for the first time. Students have had the opportunity to work with him.
After receiving a BFA degree from the College of Charleston, Rutenberg moved to New York, where he was awarded an MFA degree from the School of Visual Arts. He continues to live and work in New York City. His Brimming Tides exhibit is on display in the Lipscomb Gallery at the S.C. State Museum through Sept. 4, 2006.
