USC to hold 53rd Annual Faculty Student Art Auction
CAPSTONE • Campus Room
Wednesday April 16th.

Numerous works of art; sculpture, photography, paintings, and ceramics made by the University of South Carolina's art faculty and students will go to the highest bidders April 16th at the 53rd Annual USC Art Auction.

The popular annual event will begin with a preview party in the Campus Room of Capstone House at 6p.m. Admission is free, and light refreshments will be provided. The auction will begin at 7 p.m. The art will be on public display beginning at 1 p.m.

The auction is sponsored by the Department of Art in USC's College of Arts and Sciences. Proceeds from the auctioned works are divided between the artists and the USC art scholarship and gallery fund. Credit cards and checks will be accepted. Last year's event raised more than $19,000.

McMaster Gallery - 52nd. Annual USC Student Art Exhibition- March 4 – 28, 2008
The annual Student Competition and Exhibition will honor top artwork created by students in The University of South Carolina’s Art Department. Artwork in all media will be on display. Top student entries in the competition will receive monetary prizes. Awards will include best of show, as well as awards in undergraduate and graduate student categories.

This years juror is Dot Ryall, Art Consultant and former Director of the Richland and Lexington Cultural Council.

This years exhibition awards are sponsored by:
City ART Gallery, the Carol Saunders Gallery, Charlotte and
Alan Kahn, the Lipscomb Foundation, Joseph Price, and Southern Pottery.

McMaster Gallery is located at 1615 Senate Street in the Art Department on the first level.
Gallery hours are: 9 - 4:30 M-F. Closed weekends and all university holidays.

Young Artists Workshop
The Young Artists Workshop is a great learning experience for children to explore their artistic creativity and knowledge.  Classes are offered for children ages 6-17.
