Students enrolled in Media Arts courses may check out equipment for their class productions. Media Services carries film and video cameras, sound recording equipment, lighting and grip equipment, still cameras (both digital and film-based), and associated support equipment. We also have a selection of scripts available for students interested in reading and studying them.

Equipment may be reserved in person only, up to one week in advance of need. If the reserved equipment is not picked up by 4:15 on the reserve date, the reservation is cancelled, and the equipment may be given to another student. Check out period is for two days, with the items due back by noon on the second day. For example, if a camera is checked out on Tuesday, it is due back on Thursday by 12 noon. If it's brought back later that day, there is a five dollar late fee imposed for each item. In addition, late fees of ten dollars per day are added for each additional day. It is important to bring equipment back on time. Equipment is typically reserved continually.

Work areas in McMaster for video editing may be reserved in three hour blocks.
