Assistant Professor in Media Arts - Media Writing

The Media Arts program in the Department of Art at the University of
South Carolina seeks candidates for a tenure-track position in Media Writing.

Possible courses include Writing for Media, Screenwriting, and Writing for Corporate Media. Other courses may come from related areas of interest.

Additional duties include advising undergraduate majors and graduate projects, as well as maintaining a creative/scholarly agenda.

PhD or MFA in related area is required. Teaching experience is
preferred.

The Media Arts program in the Department of Art offers BA and MA
degrees with courses in media writing, film/video, audio, photography, and new media. Media Arts fosters an interdisciplinary environment for critical study and creative practice, and encourages collaboration with other university departments in the arts, humanities and sciences. The Media Arts area values the importance of a liberal arts education in preparing media practitioners to face complex cultural, political and ethical questions in both independent and commercial media environments.
