Students from the USC Department of Art have completed work on the production of four editions of serigraphs (silk screen prints) designed specifically for the Columbia City Ballet production, Off the Wall and Onto the Stage: Dancing the Art of Jonathan Green. The subject matter for this series is typical of Green’s other well known works detailing life among the Gullah people of South Carolina. They capture a people at work and at play and are brilliant examples of Green’s facility with color and light.

“This has been a wonderful opportunity for students in the Department of Art to work with an internationally recognized artist who has been successful on a variety of levels, and who is willing to share his expertise with them,” said Phil Dunn, chair of the Department of Art.

The editions were previewed for members of the Medici Circle, a
group of individuals who support the department, on February 3, 2005 at a gala dinner hosted at Saludas Restaurant in Columbia. Each
of the four images, measuring 26” x 32,” has been produced in
editions limited to 75 impressions.

Proceeds from the sale of these fine art prints will go to support the Department of Art. They are now available for purchase by the public
at $4,000 (unframed) and $16,000 for the set of four images (framed).
