Campus Wet Lab and Culture Facility
The marine culture and aquarium facility is located in Room 112 of the Earth and Water Sciences Building on the USC Columbia campus. Living Streams, chilled aquariums and environmental chambers (both walk-in and reach- in) are available for animal, algal, and microorganism culture. Natural seawater is transported from the marine lab in Georgetown via truck and trailer for use in the facility. Dual 2,500 gallon external tanks are utilized for storing the seawater. In addition to the natural seawater, the lab is plumbed with tap water and RO/DI water. The facility is easily customized to fit various experimental designs and is regularly monitored by a student employee.
