About Us
Sponsored by the College of Arts and Sciences and hosted by the Political Science Department, the Classics in Contemporary
Perspectives Initiative was inaugurated in fall 2008 to tap into the considerable energy and interest in the classical world across the University of South Carolina.
Hosting a postdoctoral fellowship and sponsoring lectures and workshops, the CCP Initiative brings
together faculty and graduate students from multiple disciplines, including Classics, Philosophy, Theatre, Political Science, Rhetoric, and Music to engage classical dramatic, poetic, political, and philosophic texts with a view to opening interdisciplinary opportunities for conversation, collaboration, and innovation.
