This is a continuation of the beginning painting and calligraphy course offered last year by the Confucius Institute.  Our focus will be on developing the ability to recognize different styles of Chinese painting and calligraphy.  The instructor will provide model paintings for students to appreciate and analyze, and then they will learn to paint different elements from those model paintings.  There will also be more discussion of calligraphy, with an emphasis on incorporating calligraphy into the paintings.

The class is offered to students with a basic knowledge of Chinese painting, but it is not necessary to have taken the class last year.  We will meet five times in November and December and then continue with five more classes in February and March.
