Courses and ServicesThe Confucius Institute and the University of South Carolina, Columbia campus, offer the following courses: Chinese LanguageBusiness Chinese Language The faculty at CI is among the best Chinese language education specialists with Ph.D. degrees and over ten to twenty years teaching experiences in the U.S. and around the world. We will offer small classes as well as individual tutoring to interested students and charge very reasonable fees. Courses open to anybody in the Columbia area. Chinese Civilization/Culture/Geography Chinese Calligraphy/Painting Chinese Painting & Calligraphy Class
This is a continuation of the beginning painting and calligraphy course offered last year by the Confucius Institute. Our focus will be on developing the ability to recognize different styles of Chinese painting and calligraphy. The instructor will provide model paintings for students to appreciate and analyze, and then they will learn to paint different elements from those model paintings. There will also be more discussion of calligraphy, with an emphasis on incorporating calligraphy into the paintings. The class is offered to students with a basic knowledge of Chinese painting, but it is not necessary to have taken the class last year. We will meet five times in November and December and then continue with five more classes in February and March. Taught in Chinese To sign up, email: . These courses will be taught by professors and highly accomplished professionals from China. They will be enjoyable and efficient access to the knowledge and experience of Chinese culture for either one's career or personal interests.
