With the cooperation of the Richland County Sheriff’s Department, Dr. Bob Kaminski conducted The USC - RCSD Exploratory Foot Pursuit Study. The purpose of the research was to learn about the general nature of foot pursuits, how often deputies engage in foot pursuits, the frequency and nature of the force used by and against deputies during foot pursuits, the incidence and severity of accidental and intentional injuries sustained, and other information.
