M.A. Application Process & Deadline

M.A. Program applicants must submit the following:
  • Electronic application with The Graduate School at http://www.gradschool.sc.edu/futurestudents/index.html.
  • Personal statement (500 words) describing your prior education, relevant work experience, and purpose in pursuing a masters degree in criminology and criminal justice at the University of South Carolina.
  • Two letters of recommendation from faculty members or others capable of assessing your academic potential for graduate studies.
  • Graduate Record Examination (GRE) scores for both the verbal and quantitative sections.
  • Official grade transcripts from each of your prior institutions.

The DEADLINE for submission of all application materials for M.A. applicants is March 1 st for full consideration of funding and July 1 st for all other applicants applying for fall admission and November 15 th for spring admission. All application materials must be submitted to the USC Graduate School by these deadlines.
