With majors in Performance and Choreography and Teacher Certification,we provide specialized career training. We strive to instill a sound foundation of guided practice in the disciplines and principles of classical ballet, modern, jazz and related academic course work. It is our desire that each student obtain intellectual, aesthetic and physical benefits through individual collaborative experiences.

 

 

The dance program at the University of South Carolina, founded by Susan Anderson, has had a history of excellence for 30 years. The University's dance program specializes in ballet with an offering of over 75 courses.

Our performance companies are designed to challenge gifted undergraduate students, preparing them for professional careers in the field of dance.

The dance program attracts a cosmopolitan enrollment of students from across the country and abroad.

Alumni are currently dancing professionally, working as dance teachers and administrators in college, universities and other educational and professional organizations.
