USC DANCE PROGRAM
CHOREOGRAPHY SHOWCASE
APRIL 25-26, 2008
KOGER CENTER
Coming to the Koger Center April 25-26:
The USC Dance Program presents the Choreography Showcase!
This showcase is the result of work created by students of the Composition and Choreography class under the direction of Professor Brenda Nieto, formerly of the Martha Graham Dance Company and the National Ballet of Mexico. In addition to the student works, Professor Nieto will also present two new works choreographed for the students:
"INNER DRUMS" -- an abstract work inspired by West African Dance movements and the African drums music of Brent Lewis; and,
"LULLABY REQUIEM" -- a solo work created in honor of women who have experienced abuse, and in memory of those who are not here to tell their story. With music of composer Gabriel Faure, the choreography of “Lullaby Requiem” is dominated from beginning to end by a very human feeling of faith in eternal rest.
The USC Dance Program Choreography Showcase will be presented at the Koger Center at the following times:
Friday, April 25th: 8:00 pm
Saturday, April 26th: 5:30 pm
Discounted tickets available for USC Students, Faculty/Staff and Military.
Box office: 777-5112, or call 251-2222 for credit card purchases.
The USC Dance Program Choreography Showcase is a presentation of the USC Department of Theatre and Dance and the College of Arts and Sciences.
