Alan Lightman Lecture

The College of Arts and Sciences and the South Carolina Honors College hosted a public lecture by Dr. Alan Lightman on February 28, 2006. Dr. Lightman, a physicist and novelist from MIT, spoke on his recent books which contain essays about science, the human side of science, and the "mind of science". Dr. Lightman's works have been published in numerous magazines including Smithsonian Magazine, Science, and The New Yorker. Dr. Lightman's novel, Einstein's Dreams, was an international bestseller and has been translated into thirty languages. His most recent novel, Reunion, has received numerous awards and is a Washington Post bestseller and a Barnes & Noble national college bestseller. Following his lecture, guests enjoyed a reception and booksigning with Dr. Lightman. The lecture was free and open to the public.
