Art professors invited to participate in summer program at International School of Art
Department of Art professors David Voros and Pam Bowers have been invited to join the summer faculty at the International School of Art in Montecastello di Vibio in Umbria, Italy.
The invitation comes as a result of a relationship the two have been developing with the International School over a number of years and is in part a response to Bowers' solo exhibition there last summer as well as Voros' exhibit there the summer before. It is also a reflection on the quality of the work of the Carolina art students that they have taken to the International School over the last four years.
As faculty members, the two will be provided with a residence in Montecastello and full board as well as generous studio space to pursue their work while at the school. The opportunity to pursue their work and research in Italy will allow them to work alongside some of the most respected painters in the world, thereby greatly increasing their exposure as professionals in their fields as well as that of the College of Arts and Sciences painting program. The ISA faculty includes professors of painting from institutions such as the New York Studio School, The School of the Art Institute of Chicago, the Kansas City Art Institute, the Pennsylvania Academy of Fine Arts, and the Yale School of Art as well as other top institutions.
Portfolios and biographies of professors Voros and Bowers are on the ISA website, and can be found at: www.giotto.org/faculty.html. |
