Professor Grimes is the MIBS director for the French track. She regularly teaches FORL 700F and 703F (French MIBS) and FREN 310 (advanced oral communication). She also supervises FREN 307 (advanced oral practice), a course she created. Her contributions to the M.A.T. include creating and teaching FREN 510 (French current events). Professor Grimes served as acting director of the Russian Program in 1989-90. She has served as secretary of the faculty and on the following committees: French Placement and Testing Committee, French Basic Courses Textbook Committee, Interdepartmental Foreign Language Resources Center Committee. Professor Grimes has given presentations on the verbo-tonal system of phonetical correction and presented research in syntax, phonology and second language acquisition at regional and national conferences and in Canada
