Honor Society (Sigma Delta Pi)
Spring 2001 Initiation
SIGMA DELTA PI is the National Collegiate Hispanic Honor Society. The CHI CHAPTER here at USC has been active since 1962. Members are eligible for several scholarship opportunities and meet and interact with Spanish faculty outside of the classroom. Sigma Delta Pi members have served as tutors, hosted receptions for Spanish majors and participated in the promotion of the department through hosting the department's display during the spring USC Showcase.
Eligibility for undergraduate studentsStudents who meet all of the following requirements are invited to apply.
- Second semester Sophomores, Juniors or Seniors.
- Students with an overall GPA of 2.75 or higher.
- Students with a GPA of 3.0 or higher in Spanish coursework.
- Students who have completed Spanish 312 with at least a B.
- Students who have completed at least 2 other courses at the 300 level or above with a grade of B or better.
Eligibility for graduate students:Graduate students are eligible upon completion of six hours of graduate level Spanish courses with a GPR of 3.0 or better and be on course for successful completion of the degree.
