South
Carolina Foreign Language Teachers Association
SCFLTA was founded in the 1970-1971 academic
year to promote general interest in foreign cultures in the public
and private education of the state; to advance the standards of
teaching foreign languages, and to secure the conditions necessary
for the efficiency of foreign language teaching. SCFLTA serves as
a clearing house for projects suggested by the various AAT groups,
and works closely with regional organizations such as the Southern
Conference on Language Teaching (SCOLT) and national groups like
the American Council on the Teaching of Foreign Languages (ACTFL)
to ensure that South Carolina's foreign language educators continue
to lead the nation in creativity and collaboration. The South Carolina
Council on Foreign Language Placement and Curriculum (SCCFLPAC)
has worked in concert with SCFLTA to make the foreign language curriculum
in South Carolina the best it can be. All foreign language educators
and those interested in foreign language are urged to join the organization.
