Jie Guo received her PhD in Comparative Literature from the Johns Hopkins University, and is currently Assistant Professor of Comparative Literature at the University of South Carolina. Her research interests include the history of sexuality, gender theory, visual culture, the history of Chinese women, and Chinese literature and film. Her Chinese translation of Judith Butler’s Undoing Gender was published by Shanghai Sanlian shudian in 2009. Her recent courses include: World Literature; What Is Comparative Literature; Great Books of the Eastern World; Modern East Asia Through Film and Literature; and Topics in Contemporary Literary Theory – Gender Theory.
