Heike Sefrin-Weis is interested in Ancient Philosophy and Ancient Science, within the broader context of the cultures of the Classical World. Her tenure home is in the Philosophy department, where she teaches courses on Ancient Philosophy (Plato, Aristotle, Hellenistic Philosophy, Platonism) and Ancient Science (Mathematics, Medicine). In the Classics program, she teaches courses on Greek language and literature, on ancient medicine, and on Greek civilization. Trained as a Classicist and as a philosopher, she strives to combine the tools of philology and philosophy for an interdisciplinary approach to the classical texts. She has published on Plato, Aristotle, and ancient mathematics.
