Getting the Year Started
The French Club held its first meeting of the year on September
9, 2006 at 5:30pm in the Russell House. Fifteen people came to
the meeting and we decided to collect dues of $5/year.
Meetings will typically be held on the last Friday of every month
and updates will be sent to members by E-mail. Please contact
any of the officers if you are interested in becoming an official
French Club member.
Goals
Because the club became inactive in student government records
last year, our goal for this semester was small: to successfully
plan and hold one event in addition to 3 regular meetings.
We also intend to create membership cards for our 24 current
members. We will use some the money collected from dues for this
purpose. Some of the funds may also be used to provide food for
members at meetings, movie nights and other events.
The French Club is in need of a logo! All members are welcome
to submit a design. Please E-mail Rachel
Broniak your design by Sunday November 26. The club will vote
on the favorite logo by E-mail and it will be used on our membership
cards and other documents.
Pot Luck Dinner
On October 29, 2006 we held a French Pot Luck dinner at the Russell
House. Sixteen members attended and brought all different kinds
of authentic French foods including: une tarte aux pommes, de
la soupe aux oignons, du brie, du poulet au miel et vinaigre,
de l’eau Perrier and more!
Last Meeting of the Semester
Our last meeting of the semester is scheduled for Friday December
1. The time and location will be sent out to members by E-mail
one week beforehand. We are excited to see everyone there!
