To achieve one of its most important mandates of putting poets in contact with each other and keeping poets around the state informed about what is going on in the poetry world, the Poetry Initiative will be developing a Poets Roster that will collect names, addresses, contacting details and additional material for all poets in the state.
This is will be a voluntary listing.

-- Regular information via e-mail and general mailings about poetry activities and opportunities for poets in the state.
-- A data base of poets in various regions making it possible for programmers to have a ready list of poets from around the state.
-- A mechanism for poets to discover each other, dialogue with each other and to pass on important news of publication or performance to one another.
-- An active directory of practising poets in the state that can be made available to arts organizations, schools, colleges, etc.
-- A current listing of new publications by poets working in the state.
-- Access to information about poetry contests, poetry fellowships, poetry prizes, poetry grants, poetry workshops, poetry readings, poetry slams, and poetry anthologies and more.
