The Facilities within the Center
The Center for GIS and Remote Sensing is part of the Department of Geography. The Center (and the Department) are housed in Callcott Building in the center of the University's Columbia campus. The Center occupied space on the third floor along with other research labs of the department.

The GIS resources include numerous web servers, workstations and supporting pheripherals. The remote sensing component of the Center maintains a number of workstations also as well as and a tabloid-sized scanner, several GPS units and other specialized equipment as well an archive of imagery.
These computing and pheripheral resourses are all tied into the University's high speed backbone, given access to servers, output devices across campus as well as to the internet.
