Established in 1995, the Hazards Research Lab (HRL) is a research and graduate training lab focused on the use of geographic information science (GISc) in environmental hazards analysis and management. In addition to basic research, the HRL facilitates local, state, and federal efforts to improve emergency preparedness, planning, and response through its outreach activities.
