2011 Undergraduate Award Winners


Dr. Gwen Geidel, Undergraduate Director of the School of the Earth, Ocean and Environment, is pictured with the award winners from the Department of Earth and Ocean Sciences. Amanda Fabian was named the Joseph R. LeConte Outstanding Senior in Geophysics and Gary Price was named the Joseph R. LeConte Outstanding Junior in Geological Sciences. Won Howell won the College of Arts and Sciences Rising Senior in Geological Sciences award, but was not present at the time of this picture.

2011 Graduate Student Day

Jessica Chassereau (3rd from right), a PhD Student in EOS, won first place in the poster presentation at Graduate Student Day held Friday, April 8th. Also pictured in the photo (L to R) are Dr. Subra Bulusu, Ebenezer Nyadjro (Ph.D Candidate in MSCI), Gary Grunseich (M.S. Candidate in EOS), Ms. Jessica Chassereau, Chen Si (Ph.D student in MSCI) and Dr. Ray Torres. Chen Si won first prize and Ebenezer Nyadro second in the Oral Presentation. Gary Grunseich is a recent recipient of a South Carolina Space Grant.
